Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Effortless Home concierge service, the member hub, and any related websites or applications (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, booking a visit, or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

The Effortless Home offers two service tiers:

  • Signature: invitation-only ongoing concierge program for households we serve recurrently.
  • Flex: on-demand single visits purchased through the public booking flow or hours packages.

Service availability is limited to our published service areas. We reserve the right to decline or end service when a household is outside our scope or our safety standards.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We do not allow anonymous sign-ups; all accounts are created or approved by our team. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. We may verify identity, address, or right-to-work information where appropriate. The Service is available only in jurisdictions and service areas we currently support.

The hub supports four access roles, each with its own additional terms in Section 3:

  • Client — Signature members and Flex customers.
  • Home Specialist (employee) — field staff delivering visits.
  • Operations — coordinators who schedule, broadcast, and reassign.
  • Admin — owners and authorized administrators with elevated access.

3. Role-specific terms

3.1 Clients

  • Eligibility. You must own or have authority over the household where service is provided and disclose pets, alarms, fragile items, and other access notes.
  • Signature accounts are invitation-only. Membership may be paused or ended by either party with reasonable notice as set out in your onboarding agreement.
  • Flex accounts are opened at first booking. You authorize charges for visits and hours packages at the time of purchase.
  • Cancellations & rescheduling. Flex visits may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations inside 24 hours may incur a fee of up to 50% of the visit total; no-shows or lockouts may be charged in full. Signature visits follow the cadence in your member agreement.
  • Hours packages are non-refundable once purchased except where required by law and expire as stated at checkout.
  • Account closure. You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@theeffortlesshome.net. Outstanding balances remain payable.

3.2 Home Specialists (employees)

  • Eligibility. You must hold a valid employment or contractor agreement with The Effortless Home, be lawfully entitled to work, and complete onboarding (background checks where applicable).
  • Use of the hub. Your access to client households, schedules, messages, and task notes is solely to perform assigned work. You must keep household details strictly confidential and not contact clients outside the platform.
  • Visit acceptance. Flex broadcast invitations may be accepted or declined; repeated declines or no-shows may affect future assignments.
  • Time-off & cancellations. Time-off requests must be submitted through the hub. Cancelling a confirmed assignment within 24 hours requires immediate notice to Operations so we can reassign and notify the client internally.
  • Termination of access. Hub access ends automatically when your engagement with The Effortless Home ends. The non-solicitation, confidentiality, and IP terms in your employment or contractor agreement survive termination.

3.3 Operations

  • Eligibility. Operations access is granted by an admin only to authorized staff.
  • Authority. Operations may approve Flex bookings, broadcast assignments, reassign specialists, and act on time-off requests in line with internal policy.
  • Data handling. Operations must access client and employee data only as needed to coordinate service and must not export, share, or retain data outside approved tools.
  • Account closure. Access is revoked when your role changes or your engagement ends.

3.4 Admin

  • Eligibility. Admin access is reserved for owners and a small number of designated administrators. Admin rights may not be self-granted.
  • Responsibilities. Admins are accountable for role assignments, billing configuration, security settings, and compliance with this Policy. Admin actions are logged.
  • Account closure. Admin accounts are removed promptly when the holder leaves the company or their role changes; an outgoing admin must transfer ownership of any sole-controlled resources before departure.

4. Bookings, cancellations & reassignment

  • Flex bookings are confirmed when payment is captured and a Home Specialist accepts.
  • If no specialist accepts a Flex broadcast, we will contact you and refund or rebook.
  • Operations may reassign a Home Specialist before or during a visit; the prior and new specialist are notified.
  • Cancellations and changes are subject to the timing rules disclosed at booking.

5. Payments

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. By submitting payment details you authorize the applicable charge.
  • Flex hours packages are non-transferable and expire as stated at purchase.
  • Taxes and processing fees may apply.
  • Disputed charges should be raised with us first at billing@theeffortlesshome.net before initiating a chargeback.

6. Access to your home

You are responsible for providing safe access and accurate notes (entry, pets, alarms, fragile items). We are not liable for items not disclosed or stored in a manner that prevents normal cleaning.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any Home Specialist or staff member.
  • Misuse the Service, attempt to access other accounts, or interfere with security.
  • Solicit our Home Specialists for services outside the platform during or for 12 months after their engagement with us.

8. Privacy & cookies

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service you acknowledge those policies.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, brand and content, is owned by The Effortless Home and protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the hub or that every visit will be without imperfections. We make no warranty beyond what is required by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 500. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold The Effortless Home harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your provision of inaccurate household information.

13. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or conduct that endangers our team. For Home Specialists, Operations, and Admins, hub access also ends automatically when the underlying employment, contractor, or administrative relationship ends. Surviving sections include payment obligations, confidentiality, IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Effortless Home is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your residence require otherwise.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will notify you in-app or by email for material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
